Janet Davey, Director
Janet is a Red Seal certified Hairstylist with 25 years of experience in the salon and spa industry. She has completed advanced technical training with Tressa, Tigi, Joico and Schwarzkopf. In 2000, she discovered her passion for inspiring future professionals as a Hairstyling Instructor at MC College. In 2003, Janet opened Bangs and Co Hair Studio, where she gained experience in operations, marketing and management. She has made a full circle and returned to MC College as a Director. Janet is excited to help future industry talent by sharing her experiences in the salon and spa industry.
Kim Haspect, Administrator
Kim has been part of the MC College team since 2008 and has over 6 years experience in the Beauty Industry. She is a MC College hairstyling graduate and has her Red Seal certification. Kim has a wide spread background in product knowledge, participating in advanced color classes with Schwarzkopf. Prior to her role as Administrator, Kim held the position as Salon/Spa Coordinator. She has extensive customer service and retailing skills.
Breck Harris, Enrolment Coordinator
I have an entrepreneurial spirit...I am so excited to help students move forward with their dreams!
Growing up in her mom's hair salon, Breck gained an early appreciation for the Beauty industry. “I have spent many hours in my mother’s hair salon, washing hair and combing colours through...I have come full circle!” She has nearly 10 years of experience in sales and customer service in various industries. Between 2010 and 2015, Breck owned and operated 2 businesses in Carnduff, Saskatchewan: ‘Magnolia Flower Boutique’ and ‘A Perfect Fit Clothing’ which was a mobile popup clothing shop. In addition to her entrepreneurial background, Breck has worked in sales and merchandising with companies such as Glow Juicery, Remedy Holistic Juicery and Old Navy.
Jaycee Brooks, Hairstyling Instructor
“Hair is what I’m passionate about. I love helping people look and feel their best. The ability to use your creativity is why I wanted to be a Hairstylist.”
Jaycee is a Red Seal certified Hairstylist with 10 years of experience in the Beauty Industry. She has taken advanced evening and contouring make up classes through Tigi and Modern Beauty Supplies. Jaycee has worked at Vertigo Hair Salon and Fantasy Hair Design. She appreciates all aspects of the beauty industry and believes in working together as a team to help students realize their dream of becoming a Hairstylist. “Sharing my knowledge with the students and helping them become the best stylist they can be is what I look forward to as an Instructor” says Jaycee.
Danica Crossland, Hairstyling Instructor
Danica is a graduate from MC College’s Hairstyling program and is a Red Seal Certified Hairstylist. She was inspired to start a career in the Beauty Industry after completing the Cosmetology program in High School. Since graduating from MC College, she has worked at Utopia Hair Studio as a Master Stylist. Her dedication for the industry and her need to help future professionals motivated her to become an Instructor. “I am most excited about getting to teach in the classroom! I can’t wait to teach students the skills that could build a great career for them!” Danica has attended cutting and coloring classes through Schwarzkopf Professional, chemical straightening with CHI and is a certified “Extensionist” through Hot Heads.
Tracey Holmes, Hairstyling Instructor
Tracey discovered her love for Hairstyling at a young age. Since graduating from MC College over 25 years ago, she has worked in various salons in the Edmonton area. When she is not styling hair, Tracey can be found crafting or volunteering with the Girl Guides as a Unit Leader. She hopes to help her students achieve a high level of professionalism while enjoying the creative aspect of hair design.
Pam Weatherall, Hairstyling Instructor
Pam brings with her 27 years of experience in the salon industry with 10 years experience as a Hairstyling Instructor. Prior to MC College, she worked at Lamane Place, Creative Cuts and Blend Hair Studio. She was inspired to start a career in the salon industry after taking cosmetology courses in High School. Pam has come full circle and now enjoys sharing her knowledge and inspiring future industry professionals. As a Hairstyling Instructor, she looks forward to showing students the different career paths that is available to them.
Natasha Eddy, Esthetics Instructor

After graduating from MC College’s Esthetics program in Red Deer, Natasha started her career at Fifth Element Salon & Spa in Blackfalds, Alberta. She also gained experience in medical esthetics at a local medical clinic; providing services such as laser hair removal, glycolic and AHA peels, and non-surgical cosmetic procedures. In 2009, her passion for esthetics and education brought her back to MC College as the Enrolment Coordinator. Throughout Natasha’s career, she has completed advanced training in skincare and make up through SST Cosmetics, Dermalogica and Jane Iredale.
Lori Kocher, Esthetics Instructor
Upon graduating with an Esthetics Diploma, Lori went on to work at Mayfield Spa, Juliette Day Spa and Canmore Medical Clinic and Laser Centre. She has been in the industry for 23 years with 2 years of experience in medical esthetics. Throughout her career, she has obtained advanced training in reflexology, laser hair removal, non-surgical cosmetic procedures and massage therapy. She has gained extensive knowledge with Dermalogica, Gehwol, PCA, gloMinerals and Skin FX products. Lori looks forward to sharing her enthusiasm and knowledge of the esthetics industry to ignite students’ passion for the industry.
Rylee Davies, Salon and Spa Coordinator

From telecommunications to the fitness industry, Rylee is excited to be joining MC College. “I love that there is constant growth which means you’re always learning and expanding your knowledge”. Before joining the MC team, she worked as a Communication Consultant for Telus and a Business Development Coordinator for Fitness Mechanics. “I am most excited about the energy at MC College, everyday is new and fresh...I love working with all of the clients and helping the students expand and create a clientele” says Rylee.
Caitlyn Thoreson, Salon and Spa Coordinator
“I didn’t chose the beauty industry, it chose me....I’m so glad to be part of an industry that helps people love themselves”
Caitlyn is no stranger to the creative industry. Before joining the MC team, she worked as a technician and designer at Ignition Theatre. From 2008 to 2012, she was an Assistant Manager at Green Apple Salon where she was awarded Receptionist of the Year. Whether it’s helping students build their clientele or helping them with retailing and customer service, Caitlyn looks forward to helping students achieve their dream career.
