Vanessa Slater, Director


Vanessa has been with the MC College Group team since 2000. She began her career with MC College as an Administrative Assistant and excelled to the position of Assistant Director in 2008. In 2012, Vanessa became Director. Vanessa has taken numerous classes as part of the MC College team, including "5 Keys to Success" and "Advanced Skills for Administrative Assistants" with the Banff Academy for Business. She has also participated in the NACC Leadership Conference is on the Board of Directors for SACC. She is also trained in Emergency First Aid and CPR. Vanessa is well versed in the Student Record Management software and has many years experience managing student information.



Miranda Larson, Administrator


Miranda attended the University of Saskatchewan in the General Studies program. She then enrolled at the Saskatoon Business College where she obtained a Legal Assistant diploma. Before joining the MC College team, she worked at ‘Stevenson | Hood | Thornton | Beaubier LLP’ as a Paralegal and at Ardenes as a Sales Representative. She strives for excellence in customer service and enjoys seeking out the latest trends in the Beauty Industry.  As an Administrator, the most fulfilling part of her role at MC College is ‘helping students meet their educational goals’ by keeping them updated on their progress.



Taylor Froese, Enrolment Coordinator


Taylor is a graduate from MC College’s Hairstyling program. She has worked at Merle Norman Salon/Spa, and at Visions Salon/Spa as a Stylist and Lash Extension Artist. In addition to her background in the industry, Taylor has experience in sales and customer service working as a Sales Associate and Manager at Aldo Shoes, and as a Receptionist at California Fitness. Coming from the Beauty Industry, Taylor understands the importance of continual education. 



Marg Ellis, Hairstyling Instructor


Marg has been part of the MC College team since 2008 and brings with her over 27 years experience in the Beauty Industry. Marg's education began in 1984 when she apprenticed in Manitoba. After moving to Saskatoon in 1987, Marg began to supplement her knowledge with many different classes and seminars - thesed include numerous color classes, leadership seminars, product knowledge courses and First Aid. She has also taken the "Ultimate Customer Service" course at the Native Leadership Academy a Salon Psychology seminar and is currently completing her NACC Instructor Development Program.


Candice Laczko, Hairstyling Instructor


Candice is a MC College graduate and has been a Hairstyling Instructor at the Saskatoon campus since 2011. She brings with her 5 years of experience in the industry. Along with her Hairstyling diploma, Candice has attained her Nail Technician Certificate, Waxing Certificate and Eyebrow/Eyelash Tinting Certificate – all done at MC College. She has attended many design classes and ABA shows. Candice has extensive knowledge on many hair product lines and is certified in First Aid and CPR.



Christina Prpick, Hairstyling Instructor


“A career in beauty allows me the opportunity to add positive influence in others by refining their own beauty and seeing the transformation bring them so much joy...this is one of the driving forces that keeps my passion alive for the industry”
 
From Entrepreneur to Master Stylist, Christina has been in the Industry for over 20 years.  She has worked at Shear Touch Salon, Aggies Hair Salon & Barbershop, Angles Salon and Ozera Salon. Between 2005 and 2013, she owned and managed Mane Essence Hair Boutique.  Christina believes in continuing education and has attended advanced cutting and colouring classes through Schwarzkopf, Aveda and Chi to name a few. Recently, she completed a product knowledge and make up workshop through SST Cosmetics. As a Hairstyling Instructor, she is excited to be “working with and being an influence with the up and coming stylists of the future”.  
 


Sheila Sparks, Hairstyling Instructor


Sheila has been a Hairstyling Instructor and part of the MC College team since September of 2003. She brings over 23 years of experience in the Beauty Industry to the Saskatoon campus. She is a former owner of Mane Frame Hair and Body Spa and has supplemented her education with numerous training sessions and seminars – these include advanced cut/color classes, Pivot Point Mindful Teaching classes and Salon Psychology seminars. She is a Master Colorist and has her CPR/First Aid and WHMIS training, she is currently completing her NACC Instructor Development Program.



Sheila Wilson, Hairstyling Instructor


Sheila is a MC College Hairstyling graduate who brings with her over 21 years of experience in the Beauty Industry. She has been with MC College since 2004. Sheila is also trained in Esthetics and has received her Nail Technician, Waxing, Eyelash/Eyebrow Tinting, Pedicure, Facials, and Manicure certificates. She has also completed the Make-Up course at Sebastian Trucco. To add to her vast knowledge, Sheila has attended multiple product knowledge and color classes.


Jody Clarke, Esthetics Instructor


“I have always had a passion for the beauty industry...I am excited to be able to collaborate with students and share my creativity and knowledge with them.”
 
Jody has a Diploma in Hairstyling and Esthetics. With over 11 years of experience as an Esthetician, she has worked at Sunsera Salon/Spa and Sunday Morning Organic Salon/Spa. Throughout her career, Jody has taken advanced education in retail, dermal therapy and product knowledge through Dermalogica. As an Esthetics Instructor, Jody says “I am excited to set an example for students by educating them beyond their known potential”
 


Aimee Lepage, Esthetics Instructor


Aimee is a graduate of MC College’s Esthetics program. For over 4 years, she worked at Vivid Hair and Esthetics. Aimee has competed in several nail art competitions, such as: Nailpro in Las Vegas and Clearly Nails in Saskatoon, where she won second place in the 3D Nail Art category. Throughout her career, she has completed advanced nail art training with Amore and Mosaic Nails, and has attended SST make-up classes. As an Esthetics Instructor, she looks forward to sharing her passion for the industry.



Carrie Price, Esthetics Instructor


Carrie has an Esthetics diploma from MC College Saskatoon. Soon after graduating, she moved to Calgary, where she trained as a Laser Technician at a private medical clinic, and worked at the Stillwater Spa. While working in Calgary, she received a White Hat Award for excellence in customer service. Carrie then moved back to Saskatoon, where she worked at Oshun House MedSpa as a Sales Supervisor. With over 17 years of experience in the industry, Carrie has completed training in advanced skincare with Dermalogica.  As an Esthetics Instructor, she strives to help students learn the ‘art of rejuvenation’ and obtain a rewarding career in the spa industry.  



Chelsea Fleury, Salon/Spa Coordinator


“I’m excited to work with the amazing staff here at the Saskatoon campus and to be part of the students’ experiences while they train for their careers.”
 
Chelsea is a graduate from MC College’s Esthetics program. Since graduating, she has worked at Damara Day Spa. “I chose the beauty industry because I love having the opportunity to brighten people’s day”. Throughout her career, she has taken advanced classes in hydra facials and light therapy. In addition to her Esthetics background, Chelsea has worked in the retail and hospitality industry where she has gained hands-on knowledge in customer service and sales.
 


Cindy Paul , Salon/Spa Coordinator


“I always loved going to the salon as a child because you always leave feeling wonderful. I got into this industry because I wanted to be able to give people that experience.”
 
Cindy has a diploma in Hairstyling and Esthetics.  With nearly 10 years of experience in the Beauty Industry, she has worked at Chatters Salon and Crimson Hair Design; specializing in razor cutting and customized colours. Her passion for the industry led her to jet set to Las Vegas (2009) and Montreal (2016) for the Redken Symposium. There, she learned advanced techniques in men’s design, colour, how to use social media for branding and more.  
 


Helen Ross, Salon/Spa Coordinator


Helen has been part of the MC College team for over 14 years and brings with her 35 years of experience in the Beauty Industry. She has held the position of Salon/Spa Coordinator and Hair Design Instructor. Helen's training began as a Pivot Point graduate in 1976 and has not slowed down – she has attended numerous cutting, color and color correction classes, along with various Esthetics courses. She has her Nail Technician, Microdermabrasion and Facial certificates. With her many years experience in the beauty industry, Helen intends on helping mold our students into professional, people-oriented individuals.
